I have use (among others) Apple products for over 20 years and must say that these products are just always ahead of the competitors products in many areas by a few lengths nose. This applies both to PCs, iPods and the iPhone. And I just want to again distinguish between two different categories of users for the Apple Iphone 3G.
There are the normal users who want to take a simple product, and have a maximum benefit, without dealing with the configuration or complex handling of the product. Take, use, have fun and everything works is what they want. For this group of users, the iPhone 3G is the right gadget.
Then there are the users of a product that want to “fiddle around”. All they want is to manipulate the phone and change things. The iPhone 3G is not the ideal solution, because there are always difficulty in modifying the systems for Apple products. The prerequisite is that the Apple system works, and this is always the policy of Apple.

- (Or unlock) No video recording
- No voice recording (voice recorder) or a look in the appstore!
- No voice control / recognition
- No FM radio available – or Appstore (with I-Net connection and flat!)
- Ringtones can be purchased only through iTunes – but fortunately you can find on the net for free converter, it needs to be m4r format!
- No free file manager and folder management
- To switch maps, you need a tool
The above missing features are not really important (to me), we still gets the best and coolest cell phone in the world with the Iphone 3G.

The activation procedure with the iPhone 3G is more difficult than with other phones, but precisely because the iPhone 3G is only fully valid in combination with the Apple iTunes service is what completes its ease of use. This is already some criticism that one is forced to use iTunes. It’s perfectly legitimate if one takes a global viewpoint as the manufacturer of the market. iTunes is totally simple in construction and usage. It does exactly what it should do and synchronizes the iPhone 3G with the PC (contacts, calendar, music, movies, podcasts, backup) without error.
For users who simply need to learn fast without much new work to do, the iPhone 3G is just right. Of course there are other synchronization tools available. But why should I take another one if this work great and therefore I have access to the largest online music store in the world whenever I feel like it to buy music legally.
Also with iTunes and the iPhone to access the App Store, where more than 140,000 small programs (Apps) are available, I can just download the apps that make my life easier or just plain fun. So I can tweak the performance of my iPhone with individual apps much more than any other phone. Those who say, the apps cost money, and elsewhere apps are free of charge, are missing a point. A very large part of the apps are free here. Of my 135 apps on my iPhone 3G, there are 98 free.
Apple Iphone 3G is currently the easiest and most powerful phone on the market. Many competitor trying for almost 3 years to beat the Apple iPhone 3G, but in my opinion, without success. Of course there are phones with a much better camera (such as Nokia and Sony Ericsson). Of course there are smartphones with a real keyboard. The quest for the “jack of all trades” continues for everyone.
I will not say that the Apple iPhone 3G is perfect. Certainly not. But which cell phone or product is? The iPhone does have much development potential, which in part is now done in early June 2009, with the release of Apple’s new iPhone OS 3.0. Then it can send and receive mms as well, which so many people are so wildly behind. And I can send pictures with the iPhone without any problems via email, which is cheaper and the recipient can work directly with the image on their PC. Especially in the area of the Internet is indeed the strength of the iPhone 3G.
The keyboard of Touscreen for me is quite good, because I do not need a real keyboard. In the contrary, on the touch screen, the buttons for Apple iPhone 3G are larger than on the mini keyboard of a BlackBerry. Also, having a real keyboard for the iPhone would make it only bigger and bulkier. The SMS function on iPhone is the benchmark because the sms are stored in a communications folder and thus I can see it every time easy and simple what I have written. What I’m missing only is the possibility to forward an sms.
Apple iPhone 3G is the hallmark of the concept of simple and safe operation, the perfect combination of the iPhone and iTunes and finally, the App Store that allows iPhone I my personal and individual needs to adapt. Other manufacturers must now have this concept of the App Store to compete for their devices (eg, Google, Vodafone and Nokia since May 2009, with the ovi-Store), which is welcome indeed, but in how far this works we should see.
I can only say that in my circle of friends and many have switched to the iPhone 3G and all without exception are very satisfied to the highest degree, love their iPhone 3G and never want to give it away. This is due to the overall concept and because it is so big in the fun factor. I wish all future iPhone users much joy and fun with their Apple iPhone 3G
