Some Basic Tips When Bidding a Freelance Project

Competitiveness is the major basis of the FREELANCE work. We need to be very competitive in order to gain trust and good reviews from our buyers.

STUDY THE PROJECT CAREFULLY

Most of the project have details requirement so as to easily understand by the bidders. We need to take advantage on this and review carefully if we can do the requirement before posting a bid.

BID APPROPRIATE AMOUNT ACCORDING TO REQUIREMENT

Placing a bid lower than others does not guarantee you to WIN for the project. Bid only based on the specifications given by the buyer.

POST A SAMPLE PROJECT RELATED TO THE REQUIREMENT

This way we easily attack the buyer and they can easily see and validate our capabilities if we provide then sample of the project related to what they are asking. It doesn’t mean that we need to build their requirement first before bidding; you can send a simple project concept which basically performs the concept like what they are asking.

I would suggest to build a various sample project during your free time based on different requirement so that you can have readily made samples to post.

HAVE CONSTANT COMMUNICATION WITH THE WINNING PROJECT

It is very important since you already have a LEAD buyer. Having a good feedback and efficient performance is an advantage. Obviously, when your previous buyer posts a new project, I guess you have much priority than others since you already work for them previously.
Having your own Skype, yahoo messenger id, and other live chat system is very useful to communicate.

ALWAYS HAVE EXPIRATION CODES ON YOUR PROJECTS

It is for our own security. Always embed expiration codes for all of our projects. If the buyer completed the payment, then it is the time we will take off the codes and give them the working files or program.

I am curious as to what kinds of projects you are referring to?? Are these freelance projects writing projects? If they are I would think that the tips you provide would have more of an impact if they were written using proper grammer and sentence structure.

Good ideas for beginners. By having sample work ready and being available to answer questions from the prospective buyers on skype etc. will definitely increase your chances of being offered a project.

your article does provide good superficial information to the beginners. and I do strongly agree that the writer has been able to express what he wanted to say to the readers. Then I don't think there should be any impact if proper grammar and sentences were used.

I have be a member of a freelance website for a couple of months now. It has all sorts of job available but the competition is fierce; especially for a beginner. It is a very good idea to have sample work available. If you keep plugging away you do eventually get work, and once the first job is out of the way and you are rated then it gets a lot easier.

Good tips. But not all always work. Especially if you are a newbie to a freelancing site and trying to get your hands on your first project. You will face a competition and you may end up dropping the price drastically below your profit limits. As a result you may find a project or two to showcase on that site. If you don't want to lower your price, you probably won't get a single project.

Anyways, once you have a project in your showcase you can make up the losses from previous projects. Overall good tips for people looking at freelancing.
