Eyewear or sunglasses are not just for shading your eyes from the glare and the ultra violet rays of the sun. Choosing the right kind of shades can make you look your best and complement your look. There are thousands of brands and kinds of eyewear. There are polarized shades that protect your eyes from the glare of the sun.

There are non-polarized shades that are good for everyday use and there are photo-chromatic shades that has self-adjusting lens depending on the intensity of the sun. There are also metal frames that are made of special metal alloy called Monel that is resistant to corrosion. There are also plastic frames made of high quality nylon that is light, safe, and convenient to use.

Many of the famous fashion and eyewear brands have these kinds of eyewear such as Ray Ban, Oakley, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Diesel, Fossil, Serengeti, Bolle and a lot more. Whatever brand or kind you choose, finding the right frame shape is important to help you achieve the best look.

If you have a square or rectangular face, round frames are best for you. The round frame elongates the face and softens the sharp curves of your facial features. Sunglass styles such as the aviator design are best for people with square or rectangular faces.

If you have an oval face, the choices are endless because oval faces look good in any frame shape. This type of face is asymmetrical that will look good in big, small, oval, round, rectangular or rimless types of eyewear. Make sure that you choose a size that is proportionate to the face. Bigger styles suit big oval faces and smaller styles suit small oval faces.

If you have a round face, rectangular shaped frames is the way to go. The angular lines of these rectangular shaped frames sharpen and add definition to round faces. Stay away from round shapes that give emphasis on the curves on your face.

If you have a diamond shaped face, this means that you have a sharp curved forehead and pointy chin. You should sport styles of frames that add width above the cheekbone. This will complement the sharpness of your forehead and your chin. Oval shaped frames look best on diamond shaped faces.

If you have a triangle shaped face, this means that you have a pointy chin. You should opt for styles that will add width in the eye area. Try sporting for styles that will, add symmetry and soften the pointy curve of your chin. You can choose rectangular frames that add width to the upper part of your face or round and oval frames to soften the sharpness of your chin.

Knowing the shape of your face can really help you find the perfect eyewear that will not only keep your eyes from the harmful effects of the wind and sun but it will also help you look chic and bring out the best features that you have.

Interesting read. I think people wear sunglasses for protection they offer against glare. I think your protecting your eyes far outweighs wearing them to make you look good.

I always would like my sunglasses to make me look "cool", but I always seem to find the ones that are the most comfortable are also the least attractive! Also, the price of some of the more trendy pairs is just crazy! I have been just sticking to my old comfortable ones, to keep the sun away while driving.

Very informative article!
