5 Reasons to Have Sex

Not many people actually need a reason to have sex, but knowing the health benefits of sex might make it that more enjoyable.  Sex can aid in weight loss, reduce depression, provide migraine relief, regulate the menstrual cycle and reduce the risk of heart disease in women.

WEIGHT LOSS

You can bun at least 200 calories during a vigorous sex session.  Sex will also raise your heart rate from the normal 70 beats per minute to 150 beats per minute, which is equivalent to an athlete giving it his all.  So you can go run or you can have sex.   It’s your choice.

REDUCED DEPRESSION

Who needs anti-depressants?  Just have sex. Studies have shown that women who have sex with male partners who don’t use condoms are less likely to become depressed than those whose partners wore condoms.  The reason behind this theory is that the hormone prostaglandin that is found in semen may be absorbed into the female genital tract and it can regulate our wonderful female hormones.  This doesn’t mean to go out and have unprotected sex with whoever you come across.  It may be better to try this one out when you’re doing the monogamous thing.

MIGRAINE RELIEF

Although you may not feel like having sex right in the middle of the worst migraine you’ve ever had it might actually be the solution to your migraine relief.  The increase in endorphins and corticosteroids during arousal and orgasm will relieve the pain of not only migraines, but other aches and pains too, including those caused by PMS. 

REGULAR MENSTRUAL CYCLE

A few studies show that women who have sex at least once a week have a more regular cycle than women who abstain or don’t have sex that often. 

REDUCES RISK OF HEART DISEASE IN WOMEN

This is probably one of the most important reasons to have sex for women.  Heart disease is the number one killer of American women.  Regular sex reduces the risk of heart disease because it increases the level of the female hormone.  This increase of the female hormone also softens the vaginal wall.

Safe sex is the link to a healthy body and a healthy mind. It’s time to burn those calories, get rid of that depression, kiss that migraine goodbye, get your cycle back on track and lower that risk of heart disease.

if having sex allows you to lose weight, then no sex means you can gain a few pounds. hhhmmm...that stinks. im underweight.
