Obama And Palin In The White House Together?

Can enemies from different camps work together? In the case of Obama and Palin, they might have to after all.

If you haven’t thought about it, then you would be surprised to know that this fall, after all the votes have been cast, we might end up with a "mix" ticket for the White House. Few voters realize that they can actually vote separately for the president as well as for the vice-president and that they can be from different camps too.

Vote totals from post election haven’t given me a straight answer regarding this matter, but I’m quite sure that it has happened before and this is not something that we should overlook now.

Researchers have already predicted that this election result will be tight, just like the previous one. By all chances the results could ultimately be determined by a couple of hundred votes from swing states such as Florida and Ohio, which could lead to a split ticket.

If that were to happened it would cause our political system many problems. Just think how would a president and a vice-president from different parties get along, it would be a very interesting scenario say the least.

So comes the million dollar question. Would a scenario with president Obama and vice-president Palin be possible ?

Obama has charmed the people with his great oratorical skills and his "change" rhetoric, After winning the democratic nomination he didn’t even consider Hillary Clinton, his former rival as his vice presidential running mate. This upset a lot of democratic women voters who still like Obama, but deeply dislike Biden, his chosen vice-president mate. They now feel that this election might be their only chance to vote for a woman, and this makes it easier for them to vote for Palin if only to keep Biden out of the White House. The contrast between Palin and Biden is increasing evident for voters. The straight shooting Biden might very well turn voters off with things he say. Taking these into account we might see the above mention scenario happening in January.

Never before has this occurred in an election, but this time the chances are pretty strong which would then make this all more fun to watch how it turns out. Perhaps Palin and Obama should not make their comments against each other too personal, after all they might have to be partners come next year.

This isn't possible.

Mr. Irvine needs to take a class on elections and the Constitution. The only out of the ordinary scenario that is possible is if there is a tie in the electoral college.

In that case, the election would be decided by a vote in the House of Representatives. Given that the Democrats control the House, the election would obviously go to Obama.

Prior to the election of 1804, president and vice-president were elected seperately, but that posed problems for obvious reasons (see Jefferson and Adams), and the constitution was amended to prevent it.

I agree with John, I thought the process would lead as he states. Still it is an interesting thought.
