This is Why You Can't Login or Register Right Now

Hey guys. The site has been running slow these past couple weeks because it has been getting a lot of traffic, and the site was not optimized correctly to handle that. So this whole time, I have been trying to find ways to cope with the server load, but unfortunately, I am forced to re-write the Informative Post code base.

The reason why it isn't optimized is because I was using the Zend Framework and it must perform horribly, or I am implementing it very poorly. Either way, refactoring is inevitable.

So far, I a lot of it switched over already. The only think I really have a lot of work with yet is the member area. I will be progressively be adding articles from the ones that you all have already submitted, so the site will still be getting updated with new content. You all will still get paid for your content, and I am still tracking the pageviews, so you don't have to worry about that.

I can't really give a date on when I will have this finish, but this project is my top priority, and I will be working on it every waking minute! If you have any other questions, please add a comment to this post, and I will get back to you with and answer. Thanks guys!

Thank you for the information. I was glad that you informed us about it as I was wondering why it was so in the past week and the people that I referred to this site mailed me that this was a scam because they can't register. Thank you.

Time Frame

As of right now, I still can't give a time frame. I am still updating and fixing "old" bugs to the non-members area of the site. I will begin working on the members area this week though.

I am currently moving so this isn't going as quickly as I hoped. My wife doesn't appreciate me not helping with the packing and unpacking. :) Now we are all unpacked, I got an internet connection working and I can begin working again!

Thanks for this. I was worried because I just became a member and some people signed up under my affiliate and I can't even type in my login information. I will check back daily to see what's going on. Thanks again for posting this.

Today, I could login into informativepost and it feels great! I feel the pages loading faster, logging in, viewing articles, checking weekly, monthly statistics...everything is much faster than what it used to be earlier.

It isn't completely done yet, but I have been working very hard to get done what you see so far. There is still a lot of work for me to do. Thanks to you all for being patient with the site. I know a lot of you have been getting frustrated with the poor performance it has recently been going through, but after this refactor, it should be taken care of.

You guys should login and check your account balances now. What was going on before was that I wasn't adding in the older pageviews for the members who have been around here for awhile now. The newer members will probably not see any change there however.

Just a quick update too, I about have the backend complete for the article editor. Hopefully, I'll make that available by the end of today, or tomorrow sometime. I'll keep in touch!

hey! the only "bug" i can find is that the voting feature is gone; or rather, in its place it says "must be logged in to vote" when i am already logged in. :]

I guess you could call it a bug, but it hasn't been redeveloped yet. Also, I haven't got registration done yet. Thanks for everyone being so patient about all of this. Not only that, but working through the bugs with me. I promise that I won't quit on this until it is done and working as it should.

Voting has been re-enabled on the Informative Post articles. So now you should be able to login, and vote on articles that you like or dislike.

I'm going to start working on the registration page, so affiliates can start bringing in new authors and make some more money!

is this a bug?

before i signed out yesterday, my overview says that i have an AP of 29. then below such, it said, "If your AP Rating is lower than 49, your articles have a poor chance of being reviewed."

but now that i logged in, it says, "If your AP Rating is lower than 109, your articles have a poor chance of being reviewed."

whoah, is this a bug?

No it isn't a bug. That average jumped up so high because an article was reviewed that was written by an author with a very high AP rating. So that brought the average AP up. That value is simply the average AP rating of the authors whose articles have been reviewed in the last month.

Ok, I just finished up the new registration page! Now when new visitors click Register Now, they actually can! lol

Also, just to mention, everyone's affiliate links will also be working now, so feel free to start bringing in new members!

I'm going to take the rest of the day off. :)
