Fraternity

Fraternity, brotherhood to most of those who's in it. But for me, i don't think it is. How are you going to say "brotherhood" when a lot of those who join hurts due to hazing, and sometimes it kills people specially youth. Is that what yo u call "brotherhood"??...i don't think so!

I have heard on the news several times already about a college student killed due to hazing and i felt so bad it. Just by wanting to be belong into a certain group of friends....they will get this initiations and will be the caused of their early death. Isn't it traumatic specially to all parents?

Why do we let this thing happened. Let's have some concern to parent of these children who worked so hard for them to finish their studies and just died...do you feel the hurt it gives to them?

 When i was in college, i have been part of an organization which i thank because i was able to join and gain friends without initiations like hazing. I treasured the friends and the friendship i got from that organization until this point of time. Right now i was not able to see all of my friends from there but i know deep inside my heart they will stay near me.

I'm writing this thing out because i don't want to see my children growing with this happening around her. That's why as early as now, i'm telling her not to join that kind of group. Friendship or brotherhood does not need to require those violence just belong. If they really want friendship...we can get it to anyone who has a good intentions for his/her fellow. Let's open our eyes and mind on this matter.

 This article is a call to those involve to please, if we really want to promote this 'brotherhood" thing..then we should do it without hurting other people. Let's work on the real meaning of "brotherhood". Peace to all!

This is a nice article. I've been in college for five years and have lots of friends who's a member of different fraternity groups. They are asking me to join but I don't like to join with them, because if I do, the first enemy I will ever have is my father. Before I enter into college, this is the first condition my father wants and I did promised with him not to join any groups like this. Yes, you have the point of having our kid's aware of such activities and risk as well when joining this kind of groups. However, the decision still left to the person, like our kid's, when they are school, though we have words of wisdom with them, we could not protect them all the time, all we have to do is constant monitoring about their acts and activities.
