Start a Home Business
There is no such thing as easy money, we all know that, but all too often our attention is caught by an advertisement promising the Earth and the temptation is there to check out this fantastic opportunity, send off our hard earned cash and make our millions.
If it looks to good to be true, it probably is.
Time after time I have read stories of people sending off a cheque to start their working from home job. And what do they get for their money? A list of companies that may or may not still be trading and who may or may not be offering work from home positions, it is then up to you to contact them all and hope for a response. Worth fifty pounds? With a little time and effort Google could probably have given you this information for free.
So how do you earn a legitimate wage from the comfort of your own home? First of all you need to establish that you are controlled and focused enough to be able to work without a boss poking you with a large stick now and again. Are you easily distracted by daytime television? Or the kettle and that large packet of chocolate digestives that has been calling your name? It is harder than it sounds, a friend knocks at the door, do you say you are busy and you will call her later, or do you invite her in and think you can just catch up later? If you have work to complete it has to be the first option.
The next thing to decide is what you are good at. Do you have any hobbies that could be adapted to earn you money, do you paint, write or even knit? The more you enjoy what you do the more committed you will be.
If you are still stuck for ideas, why not join a few forums targeted at people who work from home or are trying to. These forums are filled with ideas, success stories and advice, from setting up on your own, to how to recognize a scam.
During this transitional stage there are still bills to pay and you will still need to eat, it is not advisable to tell your boss just where to stick it and why just yet, building up your new career will take time and is unlikely to start paying from day one so working around your current job, or if you can afford it, cutting your hours down to part time is a more sensible suggestion.
Most of all, don’t give up. There are hundreds of people every day rejoicing in the fact that commuting to work now means a quick stroll from the bedroom to the desk in the corner of their front room.

@ 10:32 am 07/17/08 by OsirisThe other thing is to always set targets and make sure you work to them. I do a lot of on-line translation work and divide that into the number of days I have to complete the task. If I am running slow then I have to do overtime!!
But very enjoyable to see other people have same problems :))
