Why do people don't want to switch with WIndows Vista

Based on different forums I have visited, people wanted to keep their Windows XP OS until it was totally dead because they are claiming that Windows Vista has a lot of bugs that needs to fix by Microsoft.

But do Microsoft can see all of these bugs during their testing? I don't think so. That is why they need our participation to test Windows Vista OS and then feedback all of the errors or bugs we have encountered. Is it difficult? I guess not. Well all of us wanted to expense money for a good product quality. But did we have products in this world with out any problems or claims? If there is/are, I guess they don't need to offer warranty to their consumers since they have a zero-defect products.

There were lots of debate pertaining to this issue on the net. You can then saw that majority of them still wants the Windows XP rather than Windows Vista. But if Microsoft maintain Windows XP, how can they be competitive? they need to develop innovative improvement on their products to remain competitive from this business, hence, they have this Windows Vista OS.

According to many XP users, Vista is just a big patches of XP, and I agree with that, but since it is a big update, or we call it a major change, then Microsoft need to come up with a new products instead of maintaining the existing one. In an automotive industry, why do car manufacturer change their models every 3 or 4 years, yet when you take a look at the features of their products, it is basically the same with only added features on it. So it is the same concept with Computer OS. A company need to have innovative products to remain competitive.

From the information I have read, Windows in actually in the process of completing a completely new operating system to take the place of Vista. This system was already being developed at the same time as the Vista operating system, but they chose to complete Vista and market it first because it could be completed quickly. It's actually a marketing strategy, as they knew there were problems with Vista but did nothing about them so that they could get everyone to replace it with the new operating system that will be coming on within the next year or so.

I was happy to hear that. I was not aware that Microsoft has this new OS on top of Vista. Thanks for letting me know this.
I currently have XP proffesional installed in my computer, but I have also explored Vista a bit. I still think that XP is much better. XP is way much better than Vista because it can have softwares and stuff installed more than Vista can; not every software is available for Vista!
I don't hink of switching to Vista for the next 2-3 years. Besides, I don't know how to format a computer and install Vista, but I am able to format a computer installing XP!

Windows Vista

I have tried both Windows Vista and XP and find XP to be far superior. Windows did indeed market Vista whilst already working on a totally new OS, and I think that they just released Vista to keep in the public awareness and also just clearly to make as much money as they can. A lot of Windows activities are purely to make money, which I guess is the purpose of any business.

The top reason I haven't shifted to Vista is that I will have to get the new Vista compatible software to work on. Software like Dreamweaver, Photoshop have come up with a new Vista compatible version. But I don't see a point in going for all the new versions of software just because I upgraded to Vista.

Vista can wait :)

Well, it is up to you where you are comfortable with. There is nothing wrong with it. It is only better to know why many among us need the XP version and don't want to switch with VISTA.
I think everyone is just afraid of Vista, because of all the people on youtube posting videos of the blue screen of death. I myself, am content with XP for now.

I definitely prefer XP to Vista thus far. We have two computers in my house, one with XP and one with Vista. Guess which OS we have the most problems with? Vista still has bugs but not as bad as it once did. However, I'll still stick with XP as long as I can.

All operating systems will have bugs. However, Microsoft has a solid reputation for pushing out early beta versions as the final product. Microsoft knows you will need plenty of patches, which will give them access to your computer. The more bugs in the system, the more access and control Microsoft will have over your pc. Honestly, do we know what we're downloading? I've tried both Vista and XP. IMO, Vista is yet another Microsoft attempt to say computer users are too dumb to actually use a pc.

I have used both OS. My laptop is an XP and my brother's is Vista. I like them both. Vista has a more better presentatin than XP but with regards to its features I find XP more useful and more user friendly.
