The Paula Abdul Slip-Up: Its Effects to AI

As the competition grows stronger and tighter for the remaining four hopeful idols, more and more issues an intrigues are being thrown over into the popular reality show. Aside from the individual issues focusing on the not-so-amateur idols, the judges also have their own news-generating acts- with Paula Abdul winning the most votes.

Just last April 29, in the elimination episode of American Idol where Brooke White ended up for the last performance in the stage, nothing got more controversial than Paula Abduls gaffe while criticizing the idols. The thing was that Abdul gave Jason Castro, one of the remaining idols, a critic for two songs when in fact, the idols only sung once before the critiquing.

Abdul suddenly got struck by her blunder and blurted out her explanations and ended up telling the whole world that she got confused of what she had in mind. The co-jurors suddenly picked her up and Simon’s sarcastic comments tried to steal the moment out of Paula Abdul, but sadly, he failed.

This simple slip up had once again resurrected the old-AI- is-scripted-issue and this issue never fails to be revived every season. Rumors also went out that Abdul was on crack or on a high during the show which added up to the issue’s burning heat. An interview with Paula on the car after the show was aired explaining why the blunder happened and she told that there was some kind of a miscommunication with the instructions given to them. She also explained that she was critiquing Castro’s performance based on what she saw during the rehearsals.

What can we say? American Idol is really on the rocks at this point with so many issues, including the veracity of the votes, the honesty of the judges as well as the legitimacy of the contestants’ joining the said competition. This only proves that American Idol is still the show to beat that amidst the controversies being thrown at the show, it remains to be the number one and most watched show in the country.

Proof Of American Idol Fraud! How's That For A Subject? And This Ain't No Joke.

@ 9:54 am 05/17/08 by SimonSays
They Promised The Moon, The Stars, And Heaven Above. And just like Charlie Brown I got a rock.

As a songwriter who's parents were songwriters, like them I write because I love it. It's never been about the money. But when the NUMBER ONE SHOW ON TELEVISION says they're looking for some amateur to write the Next Great American Idol Finale Song. Wow! The first thing that crossed my mind was.....MILLIONS! Millions of people. Millions of cd's. Millions of dollars. Millions. I'm betting I'm not the only one.......of Millions.

It's Time For Some Answers!
This is the second year in a row that American Idol has had a songwriting contest. Since the contest ended last year I've researched the contestants from last year and this year....FYI there were over 25,000 entries last year at $10.00 for each song. 20 songs were then chosen out of the 25,000 for an online vote. The winner's song is then performed on the American Idol Finale. The problem I have is that one of THIS years Top 20 Songwriting Finalist is a Co-writer of LAST years Top 20 Songwriting Winner. Somebody from American Idol has some explaining to do.

If you want proof of fraud.
