Battle Looms for the two Davids

American Idol Season 7 is nevertheless one of the most exciting and most talked about season compared with other editions since its debut in the television screens. Perhaps one thing which contributed to the show’s soaring ratings and popularity is that the current season has shown great singers with great potentials in the music industry. More than that, the competition among the remaining four idols is getting more and more intense as the finale draws nearer.

Many have been giving their own predictions as to the idols who would break each others necks in the finale. Rumor has it that both Davids would be the remaining two idols who would take the final show. David Cook, 25 and David Archuleta, 17 are both great singers with unmatched abilities in their own fields in music. While the older David is into a more rocker and alternative side, the younger focuses on mellow and ballad songs.

In terms of versatility, both have an almost equal prowess but just lately, David Cook has been gradually surpassing Archuleta in terms of versatility and level of performance. If we can remember, Archuleta has been receiving almost perfect comments from the jurors in the middle episodes of the show but this time, Cook is getting the same attention that the jurors have given Archuleta before.

In terms of star appeal, both have strong attraction to the public- David Archuleta with his youthful and innocent look and Cook with his Rockstar and masculine style which shows as he performs. Basing on the number of hits in YouTube, it can be concluded that both idols have their own chart toppers but Cook had the most number of views for his rendition of Billie Jean. In iTunes, it can be concluded that Cook and Archuleta also have their own hit tunes.

The competition is tight and the race is getting nearer to the finish line. Will the popular prediction for the two Davids realize? Well, it’s up to you, America.

Your comment "Cook had the most number of views for his rendition of Billie Jean. " is not true. Archuleta's renditions of "Image" and "Heaven" were withdrawn from Youtube when they passed over 1 million hits. An independant music video company bought a copyright for the music. There are still many video clips of the two songs with over 1 million hits.
