Cricket Australia's Frustration After Getting Beaten Up By India

Australia has become a synonym for 'Victory' in almost every sport. Due to their dedication, commitment towards winning, hard work and strategic way of playing they had made their own mark in the world of sports. Specially talking about cricket, the Aussies' were supposed to be difficult to beat. And probably this resulted in development of an arrogant attitude and rude behavior towards other teams and players. Aussies' probably started counting themselves to be the most powerful and superior people in the world of cricket.

And as always said by wise people, the wrong attitude and behavior leads one towards the decline. And the same things seems to have happened to Team Australia as well. In the recent series of matches with India, this team was seen struggling to win and the arrogant and rude Aussies' looked helpless, while the Indians crushed this team to a shameful defeat.

Is this defeat the reason of frustration that is evident from Cricket Australia's recent behavior? Cricket Australia has taken objection to Harbhajan Singh's, one of the Indian skippers, recent 'so-called' outburst. Cricket Australia has alleged Harbhajan Singh of labelling the Australian team "arrogant", calling Matthew Hayden a "big liar" and saying that Adam Gilchrist was "not a saint". The Sun-Herald reported that James Sutherland, the Cricket Australia chief executive, wrote a letter to Niranjan Shah, the BCCI secretary, indicating his displeasure over Harbhajan's conduct. "Enough is enough," Sutherland was quoted by the newspaper. "Despite assurances that you have instructed him not to fuel this issue any more, Harbhajan continues to say whatever he wants. When will it ever end? Could you please deal with your player in regard to these comments?"

While Mr. Sutherland calls to contain the outburst of Indian players, which is appreciated, why does he forget to take into account the behavior of Australian players. There was an incident where Matthew Hayden called Harbhajan a "little obnoxious weed" on a radio show. Cricket Australia said that they reprimanded Matthew Hayden for this. But is 'scolding your people' enough when you expect players of other teams to be banned or be penalized for a part of their match fees when they are involved in a similar act?

Meantime, sincere advise for the Aussies'. Blaming others is not the way to win. Making others small is not the way to become big. Hopefully, the Aussies' would take this advise and concentrate on improving their game in order to regain their 'lost position'.
