Does Bill Clinton Help or Hinder Hillary?

Regardless of whether you love or loathe Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, you can't deny that she is a brilliant woman. It takes a lot more than brilliance, however, to garner positive support, as she is finding out.

"Image" or how an individual candidate is perceived by potential voters is sometimes just as important as that person's other attributes. Especially since media affects and strongly influences our decisions, we tend to gravitate towards those politicians who possess some degree of personal charisma. Frankly, Hillary Clinton has always been known more for her intelligence and ambition than her warmth and she apparently decided that adding her more affable spouse into the mix would be to her advantage.

Hillary's "better half" just happens to be a former President of the United States. Bill Clinton was certainly one of our most colorful chief executives. In spite of the scandals that plagued his two go-rounds in office, he remained very popular with his supporters, who perceived his questionable moral choices as actions of a "charming rogue" rather than of a serial adulterer and liar. Despite such embarrassing shenanigans, a lot of folks still like Bill.

It was thought that Mr. William Jefferson Clinton would be wowing the crowds, on his wife's behalf, with his boyish magnetism, but, instead, he seems to be more grouchy and combative than charming nowadays..

Take, for instance, his blowing up at reporters on numerous occasions, stretching the truth regarding Obama's record and recently making racially alienating remarks during the South Carolina caucus all served to dampen Hillary's reputation. He seems to have even persuaded her into becoming snippy, defensive and accusatory, as evidenced in the last Democratic debate. She had previously risen above such pettiness. The result is that a lot of movers and shakers in the Democratic Party are not happy and the Clintons' tirades may even have cost Hillary the important support of Senator Ted Kennedy.

Hillary has been winning in a number of caucuses, in spite of her husband, but that kind of luck may not hold out forever.

Now that John Edwards is out of the picture, the competition is going to become even more fierce between Clinton and Obama, which means Hillary is going to have to tighten up things to achieve victory. That may mean relegating her hubby to standing quietly on the sidelines, smiling sweetly and waving to the crowds from now on. He is not the one running for office now and the focus should be on Hillary, not on Bill.

It may just be time now for Hillary to simply turn to Bill and say, "Shutup, honey!"

Bill needs to Shutup for her to win.

But go Bill, those on Obama's side love your destruction of her campaign.

I would have loved to see a woman President. Too bad it was Hilary to be the first female candidate.

looking back, id still opt to see hilary in the white house rather than palin. i just cant see depth in her. or probably i just dont understand how US politics, particularly election works.

remember, when the best and the brightest cannot lift us up from the gutter. then let us turn to the dumb and stupid
