Britney Spears – Celebrity Train Wreck

The train-wreck that is Britney Spears’ career has taken yet another bizarre turn around the tracks as she faced police in a three hour drug-fueled stand off over custody of sons Sean and Jayden.

It started when her ex Kevin Federline sent bodyguards to collect the children that the couple has been feuding over for the past two years. The court-appointed monitor (who seems to be doing a great job) brought out Sean. Then Spears, intoxicated on an “unknown substance,” refused to hand Jayden over. She locked herself and Jayden in a room and police were called in to resolve the situation.

Had this been anyone other than a celebrity, no doubt there would be much tazering involved. Instead, police waited patiently outside until Britney relented. She was then taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on a gurney, where she remains on a “medical hold.” According to People, she has been placed under a minimum 72-hour lockdown.

Thankfully, many television crews and helicopters had time to make it to Britney’s home during the standoff. One image taken just before the doors to the ambulance closed showed her sitting up and grinning.

2007 has been a very productive year for Britney’s career. Failed attempts at rehab, head shaving incidents and clashes with paparazzi have managed to keep her in the spotlight despite her lethargic “come-back” VMA performance. Some people are even talking about her new album.

Her sister Jamie Lynn, in an attempt to keep the spotlight in the ever-expanding Spears family has announced that she is pregnant with “long-term” boyfriend Casey Aldridge. Exactly what constitutes “long-term,” in a 16-year old girl’s relationship is up in the air, but I think it’s safe to say they were going steady. Jamie Lynn is the star of the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101, which at the time of her pregnancy announcement was pulling in 2 million views. Despite claming to “stick by her,” Nickelodeon execs have decided to cancel the show fearing airing it would “send the wrong message,” to young girls.

Lets hope that when it comes time to deliver the child Jamie Lynn hands it over to the doctor a bit more willingly than her sister.

Are you sure about that?

If you had actually been paying attention for the past year or so, you would have seen how absolutely miserable and angry Jamie Lynn is whenever you see her in public with her sister. Who would be surprised if she blames Hollywood for destroying someone she once looked up to?

The girl isn't stupid: she knows she had only one more season as Zoey, but then what? She'll be of age, and prime casting couch material. Maybe she isn't all that fond of fat 50-year-old producers.

When she talks about wanting a 'normal life', it's pretty clear that means Kentwood normal, not Paris Hilton normal. Drinking Coke, not snorting it.
Having friends who protect your privacy, not exploit it. Finishing high school
and going to LSU.

But she couldn't just walk away - pressure from family, fans, and contractual obligations wouldn't allow that. Plus she is still a minor. What to do?
Well, she wouldn't be the first 16-year-old to get pregnant as a way out of an abusive situation.

As for 'exploiting' the pregnancy news - well, now she and her kid will never need welfare or food stamps. And if you ask who the daddy is, she won't hand you the Detroit phone book. Which is more than can be said for thousands of other pregnant 16-year-olds.

Nah, britney isn't a train-wreck. She'll be back on top again. The media just likes to obsess about the negatives of her personal life, but she's still singing, still recording, still performing, and she's still got a lot ahead of her.

Wow, look at you. A paparazzi wannabe. Listen, who cares if Jamie's only 16 and pregnant. Do the tabloids care if she wasn't Britney's sister? No, she'll be lumped in with many other pregnants 16-yrs old. Leave Britney alone! She's the way she is because of people like you. Why don't you go on and pick other other blond girls her age? No, of course not. Why because she won't be Britney Spears, the pop diva. That you all are jealous of because she's successful.

I personally doesn't hold anything against her. Sure, she made some wrong choices, but who hasn't. If you hadn't made some mistakes during those years of your life, or even any other years of your life, then you can condemn her. If not, just leave her be, poor girl.

She's a really nice and down to earth girl if you had ever actually talk to her. And I'd like to see what mom would kill the person that try to take her kids away.
