WOW Wiki to Beat the Learning Curve

WOW Wiki to Beat the Learning Curve

I just got the World of Warcraft sometime after Christmas this year. I know a few people who play it, but have never played it myself.

For a noob player like myself, taking my first look at this game is a bit overwhelming. The game is so massive and deep that it is literally a whole other world.

If you too are a new customer to WoW, then taking a look at the WoW Wiki will save you a lot of time. The Wikipedia does a great job teaching what you need to know first before getting started.  This reference doesn't go into any detail of quests and other more involved strategies, but it is useful for new WoW gamers.

I suggest anyone read this through its entirety before even installing the game. With all the different races and classes, even picking your character can be a struggle, and the Wiki does a great job explaining the characters, classes, professions, etc...

The WOW Wiki first goes over the general gameplay of the game, such as the characters and the world that they will be living in.

It also covers the development that the MMORPG (Massive Mulitplayer Online Role Playing Game) has been undertaking, and the Realms that you can playing. A quick example of a Realm, is something like PvE (Player vs. Environment), or PvP (Player vs. Player).

Before I sign off, I want to mention that this game has shown heavy signs of addictiveness. Mainly because in 2005 a child died due to the neglect of the parents playing WoW. True story, I didn't make that up. You can also read more about that in the WoW Wiki. So before you start playing this game, keep in mind your family and other loved ones.

So if you have a second. Head over to the WoW Wiki, and beat the learning curve!

Well, I never said I was one of the first, :P. Before of bought it, I found the WoW Wiki to be very helpful to even get an idea of whats going on. It's very simple to read.

There is a lot going on in the wowwiki site though. You need to know what you are looking for to find something. However with the WoW Wiki explains what the game is about.

Well you do have a point there. =)

Thank Goodness WoW isn't the hardest MMO out there to figure out.. I think that award needs to go to EVE.. wow.. that's a hard one to figure out what's going on.

at least there are a metric butt ton of sites out there to help out people just starting to get into MMOs.

http://thottbot.com/ is also a good site. People download an Addon that updates this website so you can search for items/quests/etc and it'll give you all the information you need.

You're right. There definitely is a lot of information out there to get started. I have started playing WoW last night and it huge. When I logged in though, I kept getting kicked off the server after like 30 seconds. So I need to look into that yet.
