Tin Man, a Sci-Fi Look At the Wizard of Oz

I don't think you could get out of High School without your school putting on some Wizard of Oz musical.  It is hard to imagine that there are people out there that have never seen this classic movie.  The Wizard of Oz wasn't really one of my favorites.  Possibly just because it was a musical, and I can't really relate to breaking into song in the middle of my afternoon.  Anyway, it is a classic whether I would like to accept it or not.

This Tin Man TV mini-series will be able to grab all different audiences.  For example, I enjoy a good sci-fi movie every now and then; however my wife doesn't exactly feel the same as I do.  I may be able to get her to sit down and watch Heroes with me, but those anomalies are far and few between.  I do know she really enjoyed the Wizard of Oz, so my chances to get her to sit down to a knock-off of the movie might be greater than getting her to sit with me to watch Battlestar Gallactica. :)

With that being said, I assume the target audience for this series would be to the sci-fi group, but then again, a small percentage of sci-fi enthusiast enjoy musicals.  So I am kind of curious how this series will do.  I have seen the commercials, and the network does a good job at sparring interest, because I myself dislike musicals, and this does look like it would be a good way to blow a few hours.

If you are a fan of the Wizard of Oz, or the characters, I posted a few links below for some Wizard of Oz merchandise:

Did any of you watch this last night? It was kind a lot better than the original, lol. Think Wizard of Oz with more action and less singing.

No I didn't get a chance to check it out, :(. I started watching it, but I could tell my wife was getting bored. I should mention that she at least gave it a chance.

I watched all six hours and liked it a lot. I found that the less I tried to compare it to the original the more I enjoyed it. It really was different story wise.

I still need to watch this. I have planned to for awhile now, but just have not found the time.

I guess I'm just going to have to sit down one weekend and watch it.
