Browns Beat Ravens Over Controversial Field Goal
Browns beat the Ravens because of a field goal that was originally said to be no good, got overturned to put the Browns in overtime with the Ravens, and then ended with the Browns winning by a field goal. Ironic?
If any of you saw this field goal on TV, you know that you have seen something that you will never see again! First of all, there was 3 seconds left, and the Browns were down by a field goal. Anderson and Edwards got them as much in field goal territory that they could. The Browns kicker, Phil Dawson, needed to kick a 51 yrd field goal, and the longest field goal he has ever kicked was this season with a 52 yard field goal against the Bengals.
Well, he kicked it, and it had the distance, it eventually hit the side post, and appeared to bounce off the bottom rail, and back onto the field, making the field goal not good. BUT it got overturned because if you looked closely, it bounced off the support of the goal post, so the ball did go through the uprights, but bounced back out, making the field goal GOOD.
After the refs reviewed it, they overturned it obviously. The funny thing about this was that the Ravens were already in the locker room. They left the field because they thought it was good, lol. Anyway, Browns won the coin toss in overtime, and ended up winning the game by a field goal. That was a pretty amazing kick!
