Dolphin Player Discovers He Doesn't Need A Translator in London
This upcoming Sunday (October 28th), the Miami Dolphins will be playing and exhibition game against the New York Giants in Wembley stadium located in London, England. Miami Dolphin's player, Channing Crowder, former Florida Gator linebacker, asked where he could find a translator for the trip to London.
I don't really know how to respond with this. In a quote taken from
Palm Beach Post, he says:
"I couldn't find London on a map if they didn't have the names of the countries, " Chowder said. "I swear to God. I don't know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I know London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him. That was the closest thing I know to London. He's black, so I'm sure he's not from London. I'm sure that's a coincidental name"
Well, I know it is a bit stereotypical to say that football players are dumb, however maybe it isn't so
stereotypical
now to say that Florida football players are dumb. I'm not really sure how this guy made it out of third grade, but to be that oblivious and self absorbed to not know that London is a CITY in England and not a country, he should be fined!
They should not allow him to play in the game against New York, because he only serves as a reminder to the rest of the world how ignorant most of us Americans are, and the priority that sports play over
academia
in big college schools.
This reminds me of one of my friends, Gravy, great quotes while we were on spring break one year, "Two plus two equals Florida State", as he said with a manner that resembled someone with Down syndrome. I know this guy isn't from Florida State, and the quote doesn't really apply... but it does.
At least he put together that his friend London Fletcher is not from London, England because his first name was London. Florida Gamust have contributed to his impeccable observational skills. I mean seriously, what was his major? Shapes and colors?
